I was recently interviewed by Nicholas Young at Machine.fm. We went quite in depth and covered such subjects as Church Choir, Jump Little Children, LA Reid and listened to a selection of songs throughout my catalog. We also previewed 2 tracks on my new EP "Let's Be Young" for you to enjoy. Check it out!
"Let's Be Young" Out Now!
I'm beyond excited to announce my new EP "Let's Be Young"!
For those counting, it has been almost three years since my last official record. I have been hard at work writing and recording for other people/projects which you will certainly see/hear over the next year. I am very excited about those projects, however, today is all about a brand new EP!
"Let's Be Young" is four songs recorded over four days at Alex The Great studio (with producer Brad Jones) and finished up at home in my laundry room of a studio. It was energizing to get back into the studio with Brad and let the ideas flow. For those unaware, Brad produced my last record "The World Will Move Along" and is, in short, a badass. Our goal was to create a fun, positive and vibey sound to go along with the little pop numbers I had written. I do believe we succeeded.
I must also give credit to the masterly co-writing abilities of Derek James and Tim Blane. They helped me pen two of my favorites from the record, "Let's Be Young" and 'You're So Bright", respectively. Both of whom would probably record versions far greater than mine.
I'm pumped you can now devour all the tracks at your pleasure, but this album will stretch further with your help! Feel free to talk, chat, tweet, like, email, bullhorn, ham radio, sign language or smoke signal about it.
Holley Maher's new EP
My friend and co-writer Holley Maher just released her new acoustic EP today entitled “February”. I had the privilege of co-writing and singing/playing on the third song called “You”. It’s a great stripped down moment in time with one mic, a few friends and some great songs. The producer at the helm was my other friend and co-writer J.T. Spangler. This album also features guest vocals from Jeremy Lister and co-writers Quinn Erwin and Perrin Lamb. I’m incredibly blessed to be in such great company!
It’s a really great record and you would be right in buying it immediately. If you want to preview it you can on Spotify, but I encourage you to buy it!
Very proud of my girl Holley. She’s getting it done and doing it well.
American Songwriter
I was recently asked to fill out a questionnaire for American Songwriter. I filled it out uncertain as to when it would emerge. Well, it has surfaced in the form of being the Daily Discovery on their site. Among the answers you may find my TV addictions, my celebrity crush and 5 things every man should own. Enjoy.
